For Thanksgiving, my immediate family and some extended family went to Bear Lake to relax, eat and play. When we were young we went to Bear Lake every summer for a family reunion and it is still nostalgic to be there now. Each time we are there we have a treasure hunt, play games, eat WAY too much, and in recent years have made tradition of what we call THE BEAR LAKE PLUNGE! Not everyone participates in this act of idiocy, but those who do feel a sense of pride and pain each time. We begin by soaking in the hot tub for a few minutes and then bolt down to the lake, which is about 1/4 mile away, and then jump in!! The rule is, your entire body and head have to go completely underwater. IT IS SO COLD!! The run back has got to be the worst or maybe the feeling of being pricked by a million needles when you jump back into the hot tub is the worst, hmmm - It's a toss up! We had such a great time being together. My sister, her husband and their kids were able to join us this year, which was a treat! I'm am SO thankful for FAMILY! :)

Growing up we would do the same thing, except we would soak in the hot tub and then run and roll in the snow...not the brightest idea, but fun nonetheless:)
