Aunt Sue

Many of you know my Aunt Sue has been living with us the past few months. She was diagnosed with cancer over 5 years ago and wasn't expected to live for more than two years.

Susan Marie Aegerter passed away at 8:40 pm on Monday, June 1, 2009.
She was a fighter! A "Super Human" as we called her!

Brett and I had just arrived in Alaska when we heard the news. I didn't think it would hit me as hard as it did, it wasn't unexpected, it wasn't tragic...but it was tough.

Aunt Sue and I had never been close before, but I had the opportunity to help care for her these past few months and we developed a very close friendship. I was able to help her write her personal history and through that experience I got to know much more about her life struggles and joys.

I never got the chance to talk to her one last time. During the process of caring for her, I never took the chance to step back and express my feeling to her - so I'm making a list of all of the things that I loved about her to put in her casket...

Here are just a few:
I love the smirk that came across your face when you thought what you said was funny.
I love that when I asked who your favorite athlete was you said "Alexis Johnson"
I love how girly you were; even when you could barely walk you would trick me into taking you to the bathroom to check your weight or into taking you to the mall to buy a new outfit
I love that just by looking at you I could see the love God had and still has for his daughter

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. the Foxcreek Ward Chapel, 202 W. 1675 N. in Layton. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Internment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park 4500 Washington Blvd. in Ogden.

HI Lex. I'm sorry for your loss. While you may have never verbally expressed all the love you had for your Aunt, I know that she knew how much you loved her because you showed it in you actions.
