The call finally came at approximately 1:00am on June 3rd. "Lexi, this is Erich. Ramsey is dilated to a 5." I jumped out of bed, threw on some street clothes, and ran out the door. As I was driving down the road I called Brett, who was still at work, to let him know I was headed to the birthing center. He was luckily just finishing up so we met at a parking lot and drove to Wasilla together. When we arrived and for the next 7 hours or so I was too excited to sleep or do anything for that matter. I was practically and literally, at times, pacing! I finally decided to rest my eyes when the midwife woke me - "It's time!" Ramsey, my sister-in-law, had invited me to witness the beautiful delivery of her baby girl! Lucky me! I love deliveries. The amazing feeling NEVER gets old. The spirit is undeniable as that new life enters this mortal world. The immediate love you feel is overwhelming. (I can't even imagine how it will feel with my own children someday.)
Sweet baby Kindred made her arrival and we were all smitten! A whopping 9lbs 19.75 inches of adorableness. (Is that even a word? It is now.) She had kept us waiting almost 2 weeks past her due date. She was so worth the wait! See for yourself! :)
Concerned first-time big sister - Saraya
