BEST BROTHER IN THE WORLD!

A couple weeks before Mother's Day I received a text from my older brother John - "Can you get a week off of work?" I wasn't certain why he was asking, but assured him that I could. He then explained his idea... He was going to fly me to Seattle to meet up with him and his wife, Jamie, and then the 3 of us would fly to Utah to surprise my mom for Mother's Day. "Jamie and I will walk through the door and Mom will be so excited. Then you will walk through the door and she will have a minor heart attack!" A few days before departure he furthered surprised me by inviting Brett to join us! How could it be better than that? Well, having Brooke (older sister) there too would have been incredible, but I'm not about to complain!

So the day arrived. When we got to the Seattle airport I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve. When I saw John I about broke into tears and I had to keep looking at him to make sure this wasn't a dream. We haven't seen in each other in nearly a year and I consider him my best buddy! I sure had missed him!

Now for the surprise. We picked up a bouquet of flowers and Jamie (aka Flash) put left them on the door step, rang the door bell and RAN to the car where the rest of us were waiting. We sped down the road and drove around the neighborhood for a little while. Shortly after, we each received a text from Mom thanking us for the flowers and expressing how she wished we could all be there for Mother's Day. A few minutes later we drove back to the house. John and Jamie went to the door and surprised Mom. She was so excited. She was all smiles! Brett and I waited, not-so-patiently, hidden in the car for about 7 minutes. We then made our way to the door step. When we rang the door bell my Dad apparently said, "Oh, I wonder who that could be? Brett and Lex?" He and my Mom had a sarcastic laugh about that joke while John and Jamie tried to hold their tongues. When my Dad opened the door he yelled, "OH MY CRAP! You've got to be kidding me!" My Mom came running and had a mild heart attack when she saw us! It was PERFECT! We spent a few blissful days together eating, playing volleyball, talking and doing what we love most, spending time together! (We clearly didn't have enough time for pictures!)

Brett and I then flew to Seattle with John. Unfortunately, Jamie's grandmother was scheduled for an urgent surgery. Jamie chose to stay in Utah to be with her. Brett and I were lucky enough to spend a few fun filled days with John! He was a wonderful host, as always. The Seattle area was GORGEOUS! We hope to make many more trips to visit the Aegerter family!
